Our long heatwave here in Florida continued through today BUT by tonight when we went out for a walk it was already 70 degrees and is suppose to drop into the 50s overnight with a high tomorrow of only 69. I think the very unusual heat has finally come to an end. But how wonderful it lasted till now for all those who came to Florida for the holidays. They got lots of heat and humidity, filled the beaches to overflowing, and generally got to do all the things they think we do all year around little knowing this is unusual for this time of the year. Once again I could enjoy the pool and water aerobics and not only do it for the exercise but to cool off a bit. It felt terrific!!!
Ken and I enjoyed two different meals out today. The first was a noon turkey dinner at Jim and Sandra Coles. We shared the meal with Jerry Brown and Joyce Jacobs as well. It was delightful!!! Lots of great food and plenty of interesting conversation. Sandra bought a huge turkey so she could have leftovers - and that she got but not because we didn't eat alot :-) Joyce brought a fantastic salad and I took a mix of fresh raspberries, black berries, blue berries and strawberries for our dessert.
We left there at 3:40 giving us just enough time to walk home, put our folding chairs in the car along with a couple of cold drinks and head for Charlie and Sharon Dent's place for another turkey dinner with the gang in motorhomes and 5th wheels right around them. It seems so strange to sit at their place and look across at our lot which sits empty. It sure will be wonderful to have our motorhome back and in place. Maybe it will happen by the middle of this month. At least the motorhome is now in a paint booth at Lazy Days. By the time we left there it was getting dark and the temperature had dropped to 70 degrees and we were all remarking on the fact we might need a jacket. Sounds funny for that temperature but after what we've grown use to that was quite a drop in temperature.
Beth posted a couple of pictures today showing the snow dusting at their place today
and a shot of her with two of her biking friends who were out for a ride this morning. Brrrrrrr.
Now that is cold!!! (course they've been wanting winter weather as they've had unusual warmth too) Dan, Jen and the girls are at their place enjoying some family time together.
Tomorrow they will head home and Dan will be dropped at the airport to fly to Ft. Lauderdale where he'll spend the night. We'll pick him up on Sunday morning on our way to the cruise ship. Looking forward to seeing him and going for a week's sail.
