This morning I rode into the Florida Hospital with Frank and Bette carting along a bag of things to do. Frank's day was to include surgery on three different aneurysms. Bette was facing a long difficult waiting period and I came along to help make that pass more quickly and pleasantly. We left at 9:15 am and finally returned around 8:45 pm. A long but successful day as we left Frank in the cardiac care unit awake and doing well after the successful completion of that surgery.
The waiting area was really quite quiet as there were only a few of us in the waiting room so we really could relax and just enjoy time chatting. Bette, of course, was constantly receiving and then sending out notes to people who wanted to know how things were going. But we did find time to play Cribbage and Quiddler as well as go for a long walk around the outside of all the connected buildings here at the hospital. And of course we enjoyed a lunch and light dinner in the cafeteria sitting outside in the court yard in the fresh air.
Bette was finally able to go in and see Frank just for a short time around 5:00 and then again around 8:00 before we left. He came through the surgery beautifully and was in good spirits. when we left.
