Today was a full day that included doing all the things necessary to prepare for our trip to Texas tomorrow morning. Items had to come out of the motorhome including our luggage, clothes had to be washed, and information had to be given to people who needed it while we were gone (preparation stuff for our huge mission yard sale, church, and the memorial program all of which we've been involved in doing leg work).
But this is Monday and a day I spend a good deal of time doing sewing and quilting projects with my friend Emma Jean and a couple of others. Emma is helping all of us learn how to sew and create some wonderful things. Last week we were busy making our pilgrim outfits as well as our usual projects. Today Lana was not able to make it but the rest of us were hard at work. Emma Jean is making some cancer hats with Christmas fabric. She is showing me how to do them too so I can make them for a friend who has had brain surgery so has had part of her head shaved. Below she is busy cutting out a couple of the hats.
Here is Florence sitting at her brand new machine working on the T-shirt quilt she is making as a surprise for her granddaughter. We've all been enjoying watching that process thinking one day we'll do the same
I spent time with Emma Jean working on cutting out the fabric and padding for fabric bowls I'm making for our grandchildren in Texas. I hope to finish them yet tonight so they can go with us in the morning. I'm working hard on them now at home in my very messy and full "everything" room that is presently overloaded with stuff that needs a home.
Here is the T-shirt quilt as it looked near the end of the sewing session. It still needs a couple of more rows added but it sure has been exciting watching it get to this point from a stack of shirts that she brought a couple of weeks ago.
Awesome! I need you to make one of these for me :)
