A Visit to the Strawberry Capital of Florida

Wednesday, March 2, 2016
Every Wednesday, most of the Keystone Winnies who are in the area gather at American Condos to enjoy a hamburger or hot dog at their lunch cookout.  It is a good chance to see each other and enjoy some social time.  Today eleven of us met at noon for lunch and then climbed into three cars and set off for Plant City and a visit to the Parksdale Market for strawberry boats - a tradition enjoyed by many every year during strawberry season.
The big festival starts tomorrow so we chose today to avoid all the traffic that results with the festival but we sure didn't avoid crowds. The line wound around three times at the end of the building as we all patiently waited in line for our treat.  The Lenhardts who live in Plant City also joined us along with two friends of the Foulkes.  Amazingly we found tables side by side by side to hold all 15 of us.
This was also Lana Buchanan's birthday so upon returning home, I spent some time with many of the neighbors by our motorhome who were having a social gathering including cake and ice cream to celebrate her special day.  I had found a little spreader knife for appetizers with teapots on the handle. She LOVES her tea so I slipped that into her card.  We hope to get out for lunch together some day real soon besides.
