Ken Elected as Treasurer

This morning at the monthly meeting at Hillcrest RV Resort, Ken was elected as the treasurer for the 2017-2018 season.  Once all the necessary paperwork is completed, Marc Cross will be handing over all the paperwork and getting his signature posted at the bank.  Then life here will certainly get busier since all transactions that take place at all of the activities will be passed through him.  Expect lots more door bell rings this coming season!!!!!!!

As part of that same meeting, Berta and I

gave a full Missions report for the entire season plus put on display all of the items that have been made for various charities including baby clothes, scarves (for service men), little girl dresses, quilts, slippers, and toys. This is one of the quilts I made for a child being treated at the local Shriner's Hospital.

 Overall, Missions collected a total of $7,200!!!!!!  Amazing for a 500 site park that is seldom full especially in November and December.   Among other things our money purchased 10 filters for each one providing clean healthy water for 10 families in Haiti along with jobs for those making the filters on site; 10 goats for 10 families in Haiti; schooling and uniform for 3 different children, food to feed a child for the weekends when they aren't in school (our county is quite poor and has over 68,000 families that have difficulty putting food on the table); an 18 month scholarship for a man needing help recovering from alcohol problems for his live in program while he dries out, goes through Biblical instruction, works for the organization and reconnects with his family.  Lots of others were helped too in a variety of ways.
