Days 3 and 4 - At Sea

This morning we enjoyed a fabulous buffet breakfast in our hotel with a very impressive array of choices including a variety of cheeses, lots of different fresh fruits, several types of cereals with lots of toppings for them, all kinds of eggs to order, a variety of meats including smoked salmon, and a huge variety of breads, pastries, and rolls.

After breakfast Ken spent time on the computer in the lobby area (one of the files that came in was sent from our granddaughter Abbi - pictures taken the night the night we left the US- July 4- with sparklers)

while I went out for a walk to check out a bit more of the area around us.

Among other things, I discovered the nearby canal system that wanders through London

Explored the St. Pancras rail station and King's Cross station a bit more

and took the elevator in our hotel to the 16th floor to get a better overall view of the area

We then took a bus to Dover in a misty rain, passing a variety of sights including the Tower of London and going over the London Bridge.  At a huge park we passed hundreds of women in pink doing a breast cancer walk.

Upon our arrival, we were quickly processed and welcome. Our room overlooked the beautiful white cliffs so we could stand on our balcony and watch them as we moved out into the ocean.

Since we still were assigned to the late seating for dinner, we took advantage of the time to then explore a bit of the ship as well get ourselves totally unpacked and serttled in for the two week adventure.

A full day at sea gave us time to check out the library, get the daily puzzle and sign out books to read,
attend a lecture about our first two ports, Shetland Islands and Faroe Islands, and simply relax. By the afternoon we received a note that said we'd been shifted to the 6:00 p.m. seating - life is  PERFECT!!!

And to top it off that was a formal night with a fabulous sunset to enjoy along with a great song and dance show before calling it a night in preparation for an early arising for a day of touring.
