Following worship this morning at the little Heritage Bible Church
that we have been attending in San Antonio, FL, we enjoyed a potluck lunch with all of the members. Then everyone changed clothes and went to work in the side yard. Pastor Santiago Huron had been given a huge canopy by the city and wanted to put it up to check it out with the hope everything was in good shape and they would be able to hold a small graduation under it in a couple of weeks. One of his 15 children and another member of the church - both home schooled -- will graduate from high school this year.
Once I can get the photos off of Ken's phone, I'll post them to show what we went through today to get it up only to discover the 16 foot center pole was missing. They are hoping that somehow it just wasn't included with the rest of the canopy and is still in storage somewhere. If not, Pastor Huron along with the church members is praying someone will step forward and offer a replacement.
This evening Frank and Bette Foulke invited us to join them for pizza at our favorite spot, Sergio's and treated us to our last pizza of the season knowing that we will be on our way north in another week and this is always something we want to fit in just before living. It was so nice to be able to spend just a bit more time with them before we are off. We will get a chance to see them for a day in June when we'll tour Falling Water in Pennsylvania together. Their granddaughter Elizabeth is graduating from high school in Allentown so they too are making a trip north as are we for graduations (we have two and will be staying much longer however)
