Graduation and Family Time

Pomp and Circumstance is a musical piece that brings tears in our eyes cause if you are hearing it chances are someone you are close to is taking a gigantic step in their life - graduating from high school or college. For us it was our oldest grandson, Jackson, who marched down the aisle with over 300 classmates from Hickory Ridge High School in North Carolina.  And yes, happy tears were shed as his name was announced and the diploma placed in his hands.

Just a couple of days before hand his mother had posted on Facebook a very memorable picture that reinforced just how special this moment was for all of us who had prayed so often for our dear little guy during the first year of his life when we didn't know from one moment to the next whether he would even live to be a year old.

But today we all rejoiced with him on this significant day, this momentous moment.  Both sets of grandparents, and two cousins were able to attend the event along with his dad, mom and brother.  And before the day was out a little cardinal showed up in the yard letting us know that his littlest brother, Aidan, was there with us too, rejoicing right along with us.  Here are his brother Reilly, Dad, Jackson, and Mom glowing.

And of course Grandma and Grandpa had to get their moment in the limelight with him...
As well as Papa, Nana, and Cousin Sue...
And cousin Jason from Michigan along with Reilly who got into another shot...

A wonderful party followed in their backyard attended by many friends as well as the family members. The day couldn't have been more perfect!!!!

Congratulations, Jackson, and best wishes as you complete your Eagle Scout project this summer and then begin the next step in your journey by entering the University of North Carolina, Charlotte!!!!!
