While we were setting up at Hillcrest, Janet and her family were flying in from Texas and getting settled at a three bedroom rental in Kissimmee. They called to let us know they had enough beds and rooms that we could come and stay with them. So we packed up and on Thursday morning we headed over. It was so wonderful to see them!!!!!
Our first adventure was to Downtown Disney for some fun time at the Lego store and lunch at the T Rex restaurant in the ice cave. That was quite an adventure!! At the Lego store there was a room with several tables at kid height with lots of lego pieces in a center "pocket". What great fun for the kids to just search pieces and create all kinds of things from people to vehicles, to buildings, to parks. Everyone got involved, even Karsten, who enjoyed the big lego pieces.
We of course had to also check out all the fantastic Lego figures that are set up around the store including the sea monster in the lake out front and the seven dwarfs diorama. Then we were off for lunch with the dinosaurs.
Once our order was in, the kids were off to play in the huge sand area where many dino bones were buried. Much digging and brushing needed to be done by our little archealogists.
During the meal, we were entertained by moving dinos, flashing lights from "storms" and flaming pots all of which kept the kids entertained. The several page kid menus and crayons plus dino hats were also part of the fun.
A ride on the little train near the shops topped off the afternoon of fun.
The kids then enjoyed some time with daddy in the complex's pool while Karsten enjoyed a bit of a nap. Then the real fun began....the family was off to the Magic Kingdom for the Disney Halloween Party evening (Karsten stayed at home with us)
Friday morning everyone was up early and raring to go to yet another theme park - Hollywood. While the family was enjoying a ride, Karsten napped in his stroller and I posed with him for this shot.
One of the fun spots was the play area called "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" where the kids could "ride" bugs, slide down beanstalks, and climb through roots.
Saturday morning the family headed back to the Magic Kingdom for breakfast with princesses.
And a day of riding all the fun stuff like the tea cups, Dumbo, and even some of the scarier things like Thunder Mountain.
Since our tickets weren't good on Saturday and Sunday, we missed out on some of this fun but we did enjoy a bit of time back at Hillcrest visiting with friends including having lunch with Jim and Jackie and taking John and Donna out for dinner. Plus I was able to enjoy doing water aerobics with Harriett and Pat on Saturday and get in for a leisurely swim and chat time with John and Donna.
Sunday evening we returned to Kissimmee in time to hear all about their adventures at the Animal Kingdom including the best fun of all, the Lion King show where Dagny was selected to march with an instrument.
They interacted with characters, enjoyed rides, got wet on the raft ride, and played among the dinosaur bones.
