Time for Farewell

Saturday, April 8, 2017
It was quite cool when we woke around 6:30 this morning.  The sun was shining brightly and skies a pure blue with a promise of a high of 77 - really quite ckol for this time of the year in Florida but welcome to us after the high heat at the first part of this week.

Beth had not yet packed and wanted time to do that and take a shower rather than eat breakfast so we headed up for our last meal on the ship while she did that.  The buffet was jammed with people as was to be expected but we found a nice spot to enjoy what we had and simply relax for a bit at the table.

Then we were off to collect our bags and head for the Lounge available to Elite passengers waiting for their group to be called to get off the ship.  I wanted to follow up on a mistake I saw on our bill so spent some of that time at the purser's desk trying to get it solved.  Unfortunately I never did get it fully resolved and learned a lesson about checking this stuff the day before.

Our group was finally called and we were off going quickly through the lines including customs, boarded a bus back to the parking lot, loaded our luggage into the car and set off for the airport which is very close by.  We had suggested to Beth that we could go do something first as it would be a long wait at the airport since her flight wasn't till 1;30 but she preferred that.  So it was she was there before 10:30 and after lots of hugs we were off.

Later she texted several times telling us she ended up in line for over 2 hours just to check her luggage and then quickly got through security only to find very long lines everywhere food could be purchased.  But she did manage to get something just before it was time for her to get on the plane and set off for home.  So much for a long boring wait at the airport.

We were home by 4:00 with bags unpacked and the first load in the washer very quickly thereafter. So by evening, everything was washed and dried and things put away.  We were back home and settled.

But what lovely memories we had as we settled down for the night.
