They aren't the best of pictures but at least I got a couple just to show many of my long time friends from the years when we lived in Pleasant Ridge and raised our children. Several of these gals were involved in the creation of the Open Classroom program that our children attended . Our son Daniel was in the first kindergarten class and thus the first 6th grade graduating class. Beth attended for 5th and 6th grades and Sue started in the 3rd grade. Since it carried over into Jr. High, both Beth and Sue also were apart of that. It allowed them to move ahead at their own speed of learning which was especially wonderful for Janet who was already reading when she started kindergarten.
Several of us were in the same ladies bridge group that eventually became just a social group as we found ourselves talking more than playing cards. What memories we have of sharing activities together since our children were in the same age bracket and school system plus they all spent their summers at the PR swimming pool taking lessons, swimming on the team and doing synchronized swimming as well as working there and just having lots of fun together.
We all gathered today at Sha Buikema's house for a very very long lunch and gab session. Each person brought a salad accept Marilyn Nack who brought a wonderful dessert for us all to enjoy.
