Today we made the long drive to Saline to visit with Cecil and Mary Elizabeth Luttenbacher who now live at their son's home. Cecil will be 98 in a little over a week and Mary Elizabeth is 95 but they are still a wonderful vital couple who have a tremendous joy for living and share it with all who visit with them.
Their oldest daughter Diane was also there and enjoyed lunch with us.
I had come with their favorite chicken salad along with some veggies, green grapes, zucchini bread I made yesterday, and a mix of cookies (Cecil's favorites). We had a delightful visit on the patio that their son, David, has created at the back of the house so that they can easily get outside and enjoy the huge and beautiful back yard. Cecil is still able to get out for a walk every day but Mary Elizabeth is far less mobile though she does still move around some using her walker.
David and his wife Susan, who just retired, have found a condo in Naples where they can stay for four months - January - April - starting this next winter so hopefully we'll be able to visit with them while they are in Florida as well
