We rented two pontoon boats today and set off for a couple hours of fun together on the lake. Dan and Ken were our designated drivers.
Each boat had a tube and most everyone had several opportunities to ride solo and in pairs jumping the wake and waves. Below is a shot of Dan's boatload preparing to give Scott and Noelle a bit of fun.
Dagny and Rachel had fun riding together
As did Rachel and Anders. In the background are Jason and Bethany sharing a tube.
And Sue and Dagny shared a ride
As did Sue and Janet
The two hours out on the water truly sped by!!!!!!! But everyone got out at least once by themselves as well as sharing rides doing figure 8s and circles trying to catch the wake and do a bit of bouncing.
It was so hot we returned and spent time at the pool trying to stay cool (it wasn't heated so you were real cool if you were in it)
Noelle even enjoyed a snack while sitting in the pool in her tube
We cleaned up for dinner but before eating, our daughters posed for this picture with their new shirts purchased at the winery yesterday. Aren't they cute? They sure do look a lot alike.
The guys took on the job of doing the grilling when it was needed
And just before full dark we made our first attempt at a family picture with the hope that each family would have a sparkler in hand. Unfortunately that part didn't work out and next time we have to put the Thayer branch of the family on steps as several of them are hidden.
Most of us then chose to squeeze into one of the vacation houses (to avoid the overwhelming heat and humidity) for the evening of playing games, chatting and generally having a good time.
Here is our oldest grandchild, Jackson, holding our youngest, Karsten, who was finishing a "bomb" pop. All the boys stripped off their shirts to convince Karsten to do the same so all the drips went on skin rather than his shirt :-)
