Off to Michigan

Sunday/Monday, July 10/11, 2016
We are especially crazy about driving long distances in a day but we bit the bullet and did two long days so as to be in Michigan and just have some down time.  It is much needed after all the traveling and activity since we left Florida in mid-May.  Sunday we drove from Hollister (just outside Branson, MO) to Springfield, IL and stayed in the same campground we did a couple of years ago when visiting the Lincoln Museum and a few other sites.  This time we just rested and then got up very early this morning to do over 550 more miles to get settled here in Holly, MI at the Groveland Oaks Campground.

We were pleased we could get a full service site (very few in this park) and be up on the hill that overlooks Stewart Lake.  Before we could get into the site, a couple of workers had to clip some branches in the tree that hangs over the sit but now we have built in shade yet a good view AND we can still use our dish to get TV.  What a plus all the way around. Below is our view out our front window.

We are registered for this spot till August 11 and may renew depending on the scheduling for Ken's cataract surgeries.  He sees the doctor on Wednesday - then we'll know more.  Meanwhile there are lots of people we wish to visit along with our daughter Beth and her family.
