Following church today, Ken and I enjoyed some quiet time together.
Around noon, we walked over to Frank and Bette's RV to chat with them. Near them are stairs that take you up to the first level of the campground "mountain" where you can get a view of the campground itself and the surrounding area.
We spotted another sign further up saying "watch for snakes"!
Ken and I continued the climb up to the next level occasionally slipping and sliding on the loose rock.
Ken actually got all the way up and I was content to take a picture of him up there.
Above he is on the way up and then below he is the tiny arm waver at the top. After that little adventure we went over to the campground office/clubhouse and pool area to look around.
There we discovered a notebook with a listing of nearby restaurants including the menus. The idea of a pizza struck us as a great idea especially after we discovered we could walk to the bar and grill where it was being served. We mentioned the idea to Frank and Bette and they joined us.
While we were sitting outside enjoying the meal we could see dark clouds moving in and feel the wind picking up. Soon we were feeling an occasional drop of water hitting us. Then the wind got real strong and the Foulkes suddenly remembered their awning was still out so we quickly paid the bill and briskly walked back to the campground in a brief light rain shower. Luckily all was well with the awning.
Bette and I then enjoyed an afternoon of playing a variety of games at the picnic table under the tree by their RV. It was great just relaxing, chatting, and playing. Once that brief shower was done the skies turned a pure blue free of all clouds and the light breeze kept us comfortable.
In the evening we sat and chatted about our plans for the nest couple of weeks including travel plans and the campgrounds we'd like to stay at when passing through. I was then charged with the job of making phone calls and reservations tomorrow when we are hanging around at the service center in Frederick waiting for some repair work to be done on our bedroom slide. Frank and Bette will head to our next destination - Colorado Springs.
