A Day for Cleaning

Monday, September 1, 2015
As much as we might like to just be out doing interesting things, making new discoveries, or spending time with friends and family, we really do have to just have some "normal" days for things like cleaning and shopping.  Today was one of those.

The day started with the long drive to Dr. DeGroat's office so I could get my teeth cleaned and checked.  It has been much longer wait than usual so I was glad it was finally time.  My mouth always feels so much better after Jennifer "scrubs" my teeth,

Since I passed COSTCO on the way back, I stopped to get a couple of items we needed as well as the Garmin GPS we decided to purchase after our old one started acting up.  Besides, it is so old we'd have to pay for updated maps which were sorely needed.  So Ken had the fun this afternoon of unpacking it and getting it up and running and attached to the car windshield.

Meanwhile I attacked the was that has been piling up.  I'm so grateful for having a washer and dryer in our RV.  It makes it so much easier to do that chore since I can be doing other stuff while the machines are running rather than sitting around a laundramat.

So in between loads, I attacked the needed cleaning of the car.  It needed a good vacumning, window polishing, upholstery cleaning, and general interior cleaning especially along door sills.  Before I was done I also did a pail wash of the outside as well.  We've decide to keep it for a while longer so it will be going into the shop later this week to have some repairs done on the air conditioning, front fascia, and windshield trim seals.  We also hope to get some touch up paint so as to fix up all the spots where paint has peeled off.  I wanted to do a good wash today to see just how many spots we'll need to touch up so we know how much paint to get.

We have not been able to get our dish to work so our TV watching has been very limited as there are very few stations available here on the antenna.  We tried shifting spots here at the campground to see if that would help but it didn't.  So this morning Ken called a repairman.  The upshot is we need to buy a new dish which is now on order.  Meanwhile the repairman gave us a used one he had and removed ours.  Hopefully by the end of this week the new one will be in and installed.

During breaks we were able to enjoy the out of doors as it is now quite warm and it was only partly cloudy.
