Ken was up very very early so as to get to the Ford service center by 7:00 this morning. They were suppose to check the air conditioning and see what parts are needed to fix it. However, they ended up so busy they told him to just leave the car which meant he had to rent a car - in our case a Fiesta. But before he left he checked with the body shop and our parts had just come in for those repairs so once they are done with the a/c the car goes to the body shop and hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we'll have our car back in better repair.
Meanwhile, I spent some time on the computer researching ideas for things for us to do in Florida should we have to stay in a motel after returning from our cruise. We can hope that our RV will be all fixed but chances are in won't be.
Then I spent some time outside cleaning up some of our basement bins. We've been going so intensely there hasn't been time to do mundane things like that. I was in the midst of the job when Ken finally returned home in the rental car after his trip to the dentist where he learned he needed yet another appointment to replace a cracked crown. It was hard to find time in our already packed calendar but he did and set it for two weeks from now.
I was just discussing with him some things I discovered while cleaning when some super high wind gusts hit followed by the first drops of rain. We raced to put things away as the lightning and thunder got closer and made it inside just as the rain began to slam down - yes slam. It came hard and fast and driven by the wind.
We had lunch and handled some inside needs including making a list of items we needed from WalMart including a new water hose, wire brush and rustoleum to fix some rust spots I found. We purchased those items and returned. The rain had stopped and we found our flag and part of the pole on the ground. The wind had snapped one section in half but Ken was able to get it back up though shorter now.
When I went in the weather radio was going off telling us another bad storm was on the way, so we stayed inside and watched a lightning and thunder display with powerful winds hit again and along with it another round to pounding rain.
It is raining still as I write this. Ken is preparing for bed and I will join him as well and hope for better weather tomorrow.
