All the years we were raising our children this was the day that our fall schedules began - the day after Labor Day when school began. Here in Michigan that is still the case but not so in the other states where our grandchildren live. Now it might be the beginning of fall schedules BUT the weather often wasn't fall like and that was evident today when we woke to rain and grey skies but very warm temperatures and of course high humidity as a result of all the rain we've had. We didn't envy the teachers and students returning to classrooms in un-air conditioned classrooms.
Our grandsons, Jason and Scott, here in Michigan started their first day going to the same school - Berkley High as a freshman and senior.
Our two granddaughters in Pennsylvania started officially today because that was when their computer based classes began which are part of their home schooling schedule. Rachel is a freshman and Abbi a senior
Noelle, the other granddaughter in the family decided she'd like to try attending a school so she started a couple of weeks ago as a 7th grader
Our freshman grandson, Reilly, who lives in North Carolina was back in school a couple of weeks ago and has already played in a couple of football games at the school. His older brother, Jackson, started his sophomore year in college two weeks ago as well.
And the third week in August our grandkids in Texas started school - Anders as a 5th grader and Dagny as a 1st grader. Their little brother, Karsten, goes to daycare.
We as seniors no longer go to school - instead we enjoy 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday each week. So we watched everyone checking out of the campground yesterday so they could return to work and school starting today. Today it was mighty quiet here.We were able to enjoy a very long lunch with Rosemary DiDomizio. It was wonderful being able to relax and have lots of time to share. We had left this day free thinking our car would be going in for service but it didn't work out so we called her at the last minute with the hope she just might be free and she was!!!!
Life is truly great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
