A Laid Back Day

Wednesday, August 12, 2011
Bill and Ann prepared a breakfast of juice, sausage and blueberry pancakes for the gang of us at their place.  Then while everyone enjoyed a good cup of coffee the group had their Keystone Winnies monthly meeting which we sat in on.

Frank and Bette, Jan and I then went into Wellsboro to check out the quilt shop - well us girls did that while Frank searched for a light bulb for his motorhome headlight.  The store had a wonderful selection of material as well as a tremendous number of quilts and other quilted items on display BUT alas they did not have the gingham material we sought.  However, the owner was wonderful.  She spent well over an hour answering questions and offering suggestions and pattern ideas to Bette who is looking for quilt ideas for a quilt she plans to make for her granddaughter.  We both ended up with a pattern for making placemats that we could make for the Mid Florida rally baskets next February.

We returned to have lunch and make our contributions for the potluck supper in the evening.

Then Dorothy spent some time with me getting me restarted on some cross stitching on musical Christmas ornaments for the rally basket (a Christmas themed one)

Before we knew it, it was time for a happy hour gathering back at Bill and Ann's place followed by our potluck dinner.
That was followed by a walk around a small section of this huge campground: Lorraine brought along the Alisons new dog Reilly, while Jan, Bette and I tagged along.

Everyone else continued to enjoy conversation and Harold got a fire going for us to gather around. When we left on our walk, Steve was strumming on his banjo and Al was singing along.
