Back to Our Old Home State

Wednesday, August 26, 2015
We drove north to Groveland Oaks Campground in Holly, Michigan this morning and now have settled in for a 3 to 4 week stay.
We are looking forward to spending time with our daughter and her family as well as seeing many friends from our years of living nearby.

The skies have been very grey all day with temperatures in the 50s and 60's and a bit of mist in the air so not exactly an exciting day outside although we did walk all around the park checking out other sites hoping we could find one that was open that would work better than the one we are in where we cannot access the satellite for TV reception. Guess we'll have to resign ourselves to little to no TV for the time we are here.  Luckily we aren't big TV watchers.

Our grandson Scott was on AM radio this evening with his rock band Leah and the Troublemakers.
The band won the Blues contest earlier this month and will be going to Nashville in January.  I assume that was the reason for the group being guests on the two hour show.  Unfortunately we could only listen to the first ten minutes as we were sitting in front of our friends home when Beth called to tell us to turn on the radio.
NOTE the cut out cow by the tree at the back - it travels to Florida each season.

But we did have a wonderful visit with Ron and Shirley Brendel - Hillcrest friends(in Florida) who live nearby this campground.  After a nice long chat at their home, we drove into the town of Holly and had dinner together at the Red Devil.
