Rainy Day

Thursday, August 6, 2015
In the middle of the night I awoke to the sounds of raindrops on the roof --- that's a sound I've not heard in a very long time!!!!  Well I have heard a few pitter patters but nothing that amounted to much but this was much more than that.  And it went on into the afternoon today.

Ken had called the local Ford dealer to see if they could do something about the air conditioning in our car that has been getting less and less efficient. So he was off early this morning giving me the complete run of the place.  Ah, time to tackle some deep cleaning.

Yes, a perfect day to finally get the dust and dirt cleaned off of the walls, cupboards, floors, and all the other places it has collected during our months of travel.  So I spent a good part of the day trying to get things cleaned up.  Meanwhile, Ken cleaned up the floor and then took advantage of the rain and cleaned off some of the outside of the RV that was getting mighty grungy looking.

Then around 5:00 we had a knock knock at our door.  It was Dan and Patty Johnson, who live not far from here.  They came over with their van so after chatting for a bit here all six of us were able to pile into their vehicle an drive to Seros Restaurant for dinner and reminiscing together over the Lewis and Clark Caravan.  It sure was good to see them
After they left, I got a call from our son Dan and had a delightful chat with him.  He sounded sooo very relaxed.  He and Jen have been at Seneca Hills Christian Camp all week teaching a Bible class to the junior high kids which means two of their daughters,  Rachel and Noelle, were in attendance. Because Abbi is still struggling with her very stringent diet, she chose to stay home where she could also get lots and lots of rest.  So far she still has no energy and is still struggling with brain fog.

Frank and Bette then came over and we enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune together. We are able to record it from our Direct TV so it is possible to watch it even when we are away when it is on.

And now it is time to call it a night as we will be up and off early tomorrow for Columbus, Ohio
