A Mighty Damp Day

Thursday, August 20, 2015
By 10:00 this morning rain was steadily falling and except for a very short burst of sunshine it continued all day till around 7:00 tonight.  Then suddenly the circle road was filled with walkers, bikers, dog walkers and people just chatting with others nearby.  Kids could be heard yelling to each other with all the energy only they can have after a day of confinement in an RV.  Jan, Bette, Dorothy and I joined everyone else and walked around our circle several times just to stretch our legs and enjoy a bit more time together.

Ken and I had an appointment to get haircuts this morning in Wellsboro.  Then once we returned we rounded up the Beers, Foulkes and Jan and all of us returned to town for lunch at Timeless Destination, a wonderful little restaurant.  We went in separate cars so we could go in different directions afterwards.  Ken and Frank returned to the campground, the Beers went shopping and Bette and I went to the quilt shop to get the placemat forms we'd ordered and pick out material. Jan took advantage of our preoccupation and went shopping at the department store.  The owner of Needles Quilt Shop spent a good deal of time with us explaining techniques to us and also helped Bette pick out material for a quilt she is making for her grand daughter's high school graduation gift next June.

So we made the best of a very damp day.
