Games, Crafts, Happy Birthday and Goodbyes

Monday, August 24, 2015

Saturday, Sunday and Monday were very quiet days filled with conversation, meals together at the campground or a local restaurant, and lots of game playing though on Monday it was more of working on crafts.  Jan, Lorraine, Bette and I had a ball playing all kinds of games on both Saturday and Sunday after church.
Ken enjoyed a Tiger game on the outside TV

Sunday we celebrated Jan Reed's 81st birthday after a spaghetti dinner prepared by the Plant's with items like garlic bread and salad supplied by the rest of us.  Jan had brought a couple of pies (apple and shoo-fly) as well as some ice cream which we all enjoyed thoroughly.   Cards and gifts were shared with her as we all shared our last time together as a group since the Plants and Jan were leaving on Monday morning.

Monday Bette was busy making placemats (Bette and I both bought the pattern and material earlier in our time here at the quilt shop in Wellsboro), while Dorothy was working on her cross stitch Christmas stocking for one of her kids and I was trying to finish up a cross stitch Christmas ornament, learn how to cut strips on the bias for edging place mats when I make them, and also master hardanger on gingham material to make a placemat.

Monday evening we all gathered for a short time at the Beers for some last minute chatting and then farewell hugs since we all would be leaving on Tuesday.  It was a wonderful two weeks.
